Meyer, 32, faces second-degree murder charges in the strangulation of McDuffie, 27, whose body was dumped in Seton Falls Park in the Bronx, said News 12.

McDuffie was reported missing on Aug. 19 after she failed to pick up her two children from their grandmother's house in Stamford, Conn. Friends of McDuffie have set up a GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses.

Meyer told Mount Vernon police he killed McDuffie at her Mount Vernon home. Police found her body shortly after his confession, added, News 12.

He is scheduled to appear in Mount Vernon City Court.
