Nanny Leaves 18-Month Old Alone In Car At CVS In Westchester, Police Say

A 25-year-old Northern Westchester nanny was arrested and charged Thursday after police say she left an 18-month-old in the car while she shopped at CVS in Yorktown.

The Mohegan Lake woman was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a Class A misdemeanor. 

Police received a 911 call about a child being left unattended in a vehicle at the CVS at 2000 Commerce Street. Police were able to remove the child from the vehicle. 

The child was crying but unharmed, police said. 

The woman was transported to police headquarters, while the child was turned over to her mother. A temporary order of protection was issued and she was released on $250 bail. She is due back in court on Nov. 30.
