Police began an investigation regarding Dennis J. Eisenberg of the Bronx allegedly stealing merchandise from Michaels on Independent Way in the town of Southeast in April.

An investigation revealed Michaels, which sells art supplies, crafts and framing, had previously issued a cease-and-desist order on Eisenberg banning him from all its stores due to his previous arrests for larceny at Michaels.

The investigation found that Eisenberg entered the Southeast Michaels unlawfully, and stole more than $2,000 worth of merchandise, police said.

Eisenberg was charged with third-degree burglary, a Class D felony, and fourth-degree grand larceny, a Class E felony, on Monday, May 21.

Eisenberg was arraigned before the town of Southeast Court, and remanded to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond. Eisenberg is next scheduled to appear before the Court on June 12.
