Village police opened their headquarters to the fire victims, allowing them to stay dry while firefighters battled the blaze in the rain, according to lohud.com, which reported that the victims – members of three separate families – later received assistance from the American Red Cross.
The victims lived on the second and third floors of the building at 679 Mamaroneck Ave., which also houses a business on its first floor, according to lohud.com.
