Latest Fake Check Casher, Trespassing Charges Top Bronxville Police Blotter

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - A 35-year-old man is facing a felony charge after allegedly attempting to cash a fraudulent check in Bronxville.

Police in Bronxville arrested Arthur D’Angelo after he turned himself into police on a charge of criminal possession of a forged instrument after he attempted to cash a fraudulent check in July.

Last week, police arrested a White Plains man that was busted attempting to cash a fake check with a fraudulent identification at the same bank.

D’Angelo was arraigned in Bronxville Village Court and released on his own recognizance. He is due back in court later this year.

Other items on the Bronxville Police Department blotter from Monday, Sept. 1 through Tuesday, Sept. 12 include:

  • Shortly after 2 a.m. on Sept. 1, a Concordia College security guard required police assistance to remove a woman who refused to leave the campus. Police said that the woman was known to the security guard and was verbally combative, but ultimately complied with responding officers’ orders.
  • Later that day, an Elm Lane resident reported to police that a Sprint account was fraudulently opened in her name and that she received a bill for $4,536.68. The case is currently under investigation.
  • On Aug. 4, a 41-year-old North Haven, Conn. man, whose name has not been disclosed, was arrested and charged with trespassing and harassment. After being arraigned, an order of protection for his victim was issued and he was released on his own recognizance. The man is due back in court later this year.
