ID Released For NYC Woman Found Dead In Hudson Valley Stream

The identity has been released of a 36-year-old woman who was found dead in a stream in the Hudson Valley.

State Police responded to a 911 call for a body found in a tributary to the Wappinger Creek, accessible from Maloney Road in the Town of Wappinger, on Feb. 27, 2018.

The deceased has been identified as Ashanti Moore of Brooklyn. 

An investigation has revealed that Moore had traveled through or stayed in the areas of the Hudson Valley, Binghamton, Buffalo, and Pennsylvania from August to September 2017, prior to her death, state police said.

Moore also could have spent time in the Chattanooga, Signal Mountain and Red Bank areas of Tennessee as well as Rossville, Georgia.

State Police are looking to speak to anyone who may have come in contact with Moore during her travels, or has information regarding the incident.
