Driver Extricated After Taconic Parkway Crash Near Saw Mill Parkway

Traffic became tied up on southbound lanes of the Taconic State Parkway in Central Westchester on Wednesday afternoon after a driver had to be extricated from his vehicle following a motor-vehicle accident in Mount Pleasant.

Officials confirmed that at approximately 1 p.m. on Tuesday, multiple agencies were dispatched to a stretch of the Taconic Parkway near the Saw Mill River Parkway to respond to the accident, which required emergency personnel to assist one motorist who was pinned in his vehicle.

The motorist was treated at the scene by paramedics as a precaution. Police had the scene cleared out in approximately an hour.

Firefighters and paramedics from Hawthorne and Briarcliff were busy on the scene, which caused traffic to back up as two lanes were blocked.
