William John Penna, 54, Former Pelham Resident

PELHAM, N.Y. - William John Penna, formerly of Pelham, died Feb. 12. He was 54.

Penna was born July 9, 1959, in New Rochelle, to Robert M. and Lucy M. Penna. He moved with his family to Pelham in 1970 from the Bronx. He graduated from Pelham High School in 1977. He attended Pace University in Manhattan earning a bachelor of arts degree in linguistics and went on to obtain a masters of fine arts degree from New York University.

He has been a Westchester County Republican Party district leader for more than 25 years. His political experiences include the campaigns of many former and present state and local elected officials in both Westchester and Manhattan. He was also a member of the Log Cabin Republicans for over 20 years.

Penna is survived by his partner, David; mother, Lucy M. Penna of New Rochelle; sister, Gina Marie Angiulo of New Rochelle (Tony); brother, Bob (Elise) of Wilmington, N.C.; and nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his father, Robert M. Penna; and brother, Christian.

Calling hours are Saturday, Feb. 15 and Sunday, Feb. 16 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at George T. Davis Funeral Home,14 LeCount Place, New Rochelle. A Funeral Mass will be at 1 p.m. celebrated Monday, Feb. 17, at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 411 East 68th St., in Manhattan.
