NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - Valerie Fumo, a resident of New Rochelle and former resident of Pelham Manor, died Sept. 12. She was 81.
Fumo was born Nov. 18, 1931, in the Bronx, to Raymond and Margaret (Bruno) DuHamel. She was a bookkeeper for many years. She was active in the St. Francis Xavier AARP and the St. Claire’s Senior Center, both in the Bronx.
Fumo is survived by her husband, Peter; children, Deborah Downes, Denise Kelly, Peter Fumo Jr., and Paul Fumo; and eight grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17 at Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
