Stephen W. Lorusso, 94, Longtime Pelham Resident

PELHAM/NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - Stephen W. Lorusso, a longtime resident of Pelham and New Rochelle, died Oct. 19. He was 94.

Lorusso was born March 22, 1920, in Mount Vernon, to Donato and Rose (Gagliardi) Lorusso. He worked alongside his brother and father, starting in the ice and coal delivery business that transitioned into what became the Wakefield Oil Co. in Mount Vernon. He served in the Army during World War II.

Lorusso is survived by his children, Kathy (Ronald) Nardone, Lori DiMilia, and Elaine (Don) Glenn; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews; and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Joan; son-in-law, Canio DiMilia; brother, Joseph; and sister, Katherine.

Calling hours are Thursday, Oct. 23 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, Inc., 16 Shea Place, New Rochelle. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 24 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery.
