PELHAM, N.Y. - Rosemarie Grace D'Iorio of Pelham died Oct. 13. She was 66.
D’Iorio was born in the Bronx, and attended Holy Cross School. She pursued her education at Hunter College and achieved an MA in Education. She was a teacher and taught at St. Theresa's in the Bronx, in the Bronx Public School System and ultimately at the Hutchinson School in Pelham where she taught for 28 years until her retirement three years ago.
D’Iorio is survived by her daughters, Lisa (Chris) Gruttadauria and Jeanine (Patrick) Stevener; four grandchildren; sister, Denise (Joseph); and a nephew and niece. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfonso.
Calling hours are Wednesday, Oct. 15 from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Pelham Funeral Home, 64 Lincoln Ave., Pelham. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 16 at St. Catherine's Church located at 25 Second Ave., Pelham, NY 10803.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in D’Iorio's name to The American Cancer Society.
