Louis G. Nappi, 94, Of Pelham Manor, Owned Nappi Colonial Concrete

PELHAM MANOR, N.Y. - Louis G. Nappi of Pelham Manor died Tuesday, Oct. 21. He was 94.

Nappi was born born July 12, 1920, to Gennaro and Mary Nappi. He was a resident of Pelham Manor for 32 years. He served in the Army and was assigned a teaching position at Virginia Polytechnic Institute in Blacksburg. Business brought Lou and his family to Westchester. He settled in Pelham Manor with his wife.

After serving in the Army, he obtained a position as a journalist with the Italian newspaper Il Progresso. From his connections with the newspaper he was offered a job with Colonial Sand and Stone. He started his own company, Nappi Colonial Concrete in the early 1970’s and later joint ventured with Westchester Concrete, forming N&W Concrete. He was chairman emeritus of the Construction Industry Council of Westchester and Hudson Valley. He was a member of the Board of Governors and a past Greens Chairman of Pelham Country Club.

Nappi is survived by his wife, Angelina; daughters, Mary Lou Damiano, Gerry DiNatale, Angela Mitrione; four grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Ruby; and brother, Anthony.

Calling hours are Wednesday, Oct. 22 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday, Oct. 23 from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, Inc., 16 Shea Place, New Rochelle. A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 24 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Pelham Manor. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Nappi’s memory to Louis G. Nappi Construction Labor-Management Scholarship Program to be mailed to Construction Industry, 629 Old White Plains Road, Tarrytown, NY 10591.
