PELHAM, N.Y. Work has begun at the corner of Fifth and Pelhamwood avenues to put a meter on the water main under the street.
Robert Thiele, construction inspector from Buck, Seifert & Jost, Inc., said there are two water mains in the area and the work could take some time.
"There's a lot of work here," Thiele said. "(It will) probably (take) a week."
Police on site directed traffic as needed.
Joken Construction recently undertook a similar project under the railroad overpass mere feet from the current worksite.
