Work Being Done on Pelham's Fifth Avenue

PELHAM, N.Y. – Contractors for Verizon were installing a conduit underneath Fifth Avenue by the Pelham Firehouse early on Tuesday. The street was blocked off by a cop car for traffic looking to go north on Fifth Avenue.

Lou Irizarry, one of the contractors working, said that the conduit was being put in “for files for the cell towers up on top of the firehouse.” He said they expect to be done by Friday and that they have about 170 feet left to go.
