Water Main Construction to End Next Week

PELHAM, N.Y. – Construction on a water main under the street at the corner of Fifth Avenue and Harmon Avenue reached an important point Wednesday. Workers set the meter on the main and plan to wrap up construction next week.

Robert Thiele, construction inspector from Buck, Seifert & Jost, Inc., said that the crew needs to run a new main from Fifth Avenue between Pelhamwood Avenue and First Street.

Work began approximately two weeks ago and Thiele said at the time that the work could take about a week. He said Wednesday that the work should end next week.

Police stationed at the work site directed traffic as necessary.
