On Jan. 2, Bangkok City – a Thai restaurant – debuted in Pelham on 100 Fifth Ave. The restaurant is owned and operated by Artie Leeraternpong, 33, who is also the chef. He was born in Thailand and moved to America with his family in 1989.

It was Leeraternpong’s dream to start up a restaurant after working at his parent’s when he was younger. He offers a Thai cuisine with a futuristic feel, including a menu that has nothing over $20 and authentic meals off the streets of Bangkok.

The restaurant, which also features a full bar, is open from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday through Sunday.

“We have good crowds and we have good review, but I wanna go beyond. I want good to be better, better to be best, best to be wow.” Leeraternpong said in January. “I just want everybody to come in and have a good time and I just want to blend in with the community.”
