School Budget Meeting on Saturday

PELHAM, N.Y. - There is an important school budget meeting coming up this weekend for anyone interested in budget issues facing Pelham schools.

On Saturday, School Board President Bob Eicher and Vice President Marti Arden will host “Neighbor to Neighbor: Our School Budget – Hear How It Works, Tell Us Your Ideas” at 10:15 a.m. The event will take place at the Pelham Library Community Room.

The School Board will begin working on the 2012-2013 budget soon after the New Year. The meeting will be an opportunity for residents to voice their opinions on school policies and practices while also hearing about the budget process.

This is the third of four scheduled meetings. The last meeting will take place on Wednesday, December 14, from 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at M.A.D café.

Some other events next week:

-On Monday, there will be a Pelham Manor Board meeting at 8:15 p.m. at the Village Hall. This will be the only December meeting.

-On Tuesday, the Colonial Elementary School band will have their Winter Concert at 9:15 a.m. Later on that night, at 7:00 p.m., Pelham High School will host their Chorus Winter Concert.

-On Wednesday at 3:30 p.m., sixth graders will have the chance to audition for the Pelham Children’s Theater production of “Guys and Dolls, Jr.” The auditions will take place at the Prospect Hill School Auditorium. Fifth graders will be able to audition the next day at the same place and time.

-On Thursday, the Pelham High School Orchestra Winter Concert will take place at 7:00 p.m in the school’s auditorium.

-On Friday, the Siwanoy School Winter Concert will take place at 9:15 a.m. at the school. Later on, the Pelham Girl Scouts Sing-a-long will take place at the Pelham Gazebo from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
