"She’s Beautiful When She’s Angry" is the first theatrical documentary to pay tribute to the women who, by fighting for their rights between 1966 and 1971, gave birth to the current women’s movement.

The documentary film goes from the founding of "NOW," with ladies in hats and gloves, to the emergence of more radical factions of women’s liberation like intellectuals like Kate Millett, to the street theatrics of "WITCH (Women’s International Conspiracy from Hell)."

"She’s Beautiful When She’s Angry" at its core is a film about activists, made to inspire women and men to work for feminism and human rights.

After the film, the audience is invited to stay and participate in a discussion and Q&A with award-winning documentary producer Dore. Dore who directed "She’s Beautiful When She’s Angry" brings an activist perspective to her films.

Among her first projects was "Children of Labor" (1977), which premiered at the New York Film Festival. She has since produced television series for Maine Public Broadcasting and 13/WNET in New York.

Dore produced and co-directed the feature documentary "The Good Fight: the Abraham Lincoln Brigade in the Spanish Civil War" (with Noel Buckner and Sam Sills), which screened at the Toronto, Sundance, and London Film Festivals. She has also produced dozens of television documentaries for PBS, New York Times TV, A&E, and the Discovery Channel. Her TV work has won Emmys, Cine Golden Eagles and Cable Ace Awards.

Tickets to the special screening and post-film discussion are $12/general admission, $10/students and seniors, $6/members and are available at www.thepicturehouse.org or at the box office, 175 Wolfs Lane, Pelham.
