Pelham Worker Does Not Enjoy Rain, Cold

PELHAM, N.Y. – Taniesha Hinds stood with a rainbow umbrella outside the town house on Fifth Avenue and waited for her cab in the rain Thursday afternoon.

The Pelham Children’s Center employee said the rain puts a damper on her plans throughout the day.

“I work with kids, so when it rains, we can’t get outside,” Hinds said. “I hope it doesn’t last like this for too long.”

Hinds said she likes a few rainy days here and there but does not look forward to several in a row. But she added that when she and the children are prepared for a rainy day, then they can go outside in raincoats and enjoy the change in weather.

As for the colder temperatures that have arrived, Hinds said she is not really a fan of cold weather and hopes that warmer days come sooner rather than later.

The National Weather Service caled for rain in Pelham throughout Thursday and for areas of frost early Friday morning. Rain and snow should arrive over the weekend.

High temperatures this weekend will be in the high 40s, while the lows will dip into the low-to-mid 30s.
