Pelham Woman Enjoys Cooler Temperatures

PELHAM, N.Y. – Lois Soccodato prefers the weather of summer but she does not mind that temperatures have started to drop.

"I'm enjoying the cool weather, which I refer to as sweater weather," Soccodato said, adding that she likes the cool, crisp mornings and sunny, warm days that have occurred in Pelham in recent days.

"It's a beautiful feeling," she said.

Soccodato, who works at Village Wine and Liquor, said she prefers the summertime because of both the weather and the fact that the sun stays out for a longer period of time. When temperatures drop below 50 degrees, Soccodato said that it's too cold for her liking.

"You have to wear a lot more layers, a lot more clothes and you're uncomfortable," Soccodato said. "And it takes longer to heat the car up."

The high temperature in Pelham is expected to be in the high 60s on Thursday and Friday, according to the National Weather Service. High temperatures will be 75 degrees and 81 degrees on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. The lows will be in the mid-50s.

For Columbus Day, the weather is anticipated to be sunny with a high near 78 degrees, while Monday night should see clear skies with a low near 56 degrees.
