Pelham Police Help Resident Gain Entry into House

PELHAM, N.Y. – A Storer Avenue resident called police on Monday at 11:31 p.m. because she was locked out of her house and feared something may have happened to her parents.

The female said that her parents were home, but they were not responding to any phone calls or the doorbell. Units were dispatched and they advised that all was in order once the resident was able to gain entry.

Also on the blotter:

- An officer was dispatched to Brookside Avenue on Tuesday at 12:02 a.m. after a woman called police complaining of severe lower back pain. The pain was from a prior injury. EMS and the Pelham Fire Department arrived on scene and the woman was transported by Empress Ambulance to Sound Shore Medical Center for further treatment.

- An Eighth Avenue resident was having difficulty breathing on Sunday at 9:54 p.m., which Pelham police responded to. The woman told the officer that she was having trouble breathing and feeling faint. The Pelham Fire Department, paramedics and ambulance showed up on scene before the woman was transported to Sound Shore Medical Center by ambulance.

- While on patrol, a Pelham officer’s License Plate Reader (LPR) alerted him to a white 2003 Cadillac Escalade because the vehicle’s registration was suspended. The officer pulled over the car, which was traveling westbound on Lincoln Avenue at the intersection of Fifth Avenue, and asked the male driver for his license and registration. He produced both, but the vehicle registration was suspended because he did not have insurance.

The officer advised the suspect of the suspension in New York State and placed him under arrest. His vehicle was impounded by Westchester Collision. The suspect was searched and transported to Pelham Police Headquarters without incident.

Upon arrival at headquarters, the man was issued two traffic summonses for driving without insurance and a suspended registration. He was released on $40 bail, which he paid himself, and is due in Pelham town court on Wednesday evening.
