Pelham Plans Ahead for Fall Fair

PELHAM, N.Y. – The Chamber of Commerce has already begun preparing for this year's street fair on Oct. 15.

David Katz, vice president of the Pelham Chamber of Commerce, said October's street fair could be slightly different than the one that the chamber held in June.

"There might not be as many rides as last time, so it should be a little different," Katz said. "The vendors are different, too. (We'll have) the fall vendors, the crafty stuff."

Katz said the June fair was quite successful, but added that the chamber hopes for a "much bigger turnout this time."

Katz, who is also the executive chef at the Depot Market, said the chamber started preparing for the fair last month. The Village of Pelham Board of Trustees approved a resolution to officially authorize the street fair at its Aug. 9 meeting.

The chamber hired PJ's Promotions to help set up and run June's fair. Katz said the group has hired the company again, which has allowed the chamber to focus on preparing the merchants in town for the fair.

"The company that we hired last time is doing most of the work again," Katz said. "We're just trying to get most of the vendors and local merchants ready to go."
