PELHAM, N.Y. As a result of the six armed robberies that have occurred in and around Pelham, the Pelham Manor Police Department is aiding the Pelham Police Department by having some of its police cars patrol the village during the late evening hours.
The announcement was made at the Pelham Manor Village Board meeting on Monday night by Mayor Jim O'Connor. O'Connor also made it known that Pelham Manor is still being adequately watched by its own police.
Throughout the train bandit's robbery spree, both O'Connor and Pelham Village Mayor Ed Hotchkiss have been in contact as have both police departments.
O'Connor said at the meeting that both departments are on the same radio frequency, which means communication is simple, allowing both departments to respond to calls when needed.
