Workers continue to repair deficiencies recently discovered in the bridge. The bridge had been completely shut down at intermittent points since May.

Vehicles over 20 tons will be prohibited from driving over the bridge until work is completed. Numerous signs are now posted to warn drivers of this limit.

The bridge was closed intermittently in May for maintenance work. Plans are currently under way to repair the defective beams.

The Fulton Avenue Bridge connects Mount Vernon to Route 1 and to the area’s major retail corridor.
