Brendan Cronin, 27, allegedly shot Joseph Felice, a New Rochelle resident on his way home with a friend, six times from his car Tuesday night.

He was charged with first degree assault in Pelham Town Court Thursday night after being released on a $250,000 bond. According to court officials, he was also ordered to surrender his driver's license as condition of his bail.

Felice, who is in stable condition at Montefiore Medical Center, was shot six times in the torso, arm and hand while riding as a passenger in a car on his way to his home in New Rochelle.

Cronin allegedly opened fire, unprovoked, on the car when it came to a stop at a traffic light at Lincoln and 6th Avenue around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

The weapon used was a 9mm Glock, which is Cronin's NYPD-issued weapon.

According to multiple reports, New York City Police Commissioner William Bratton told reporters Wednesday afternoon that the officer had been drinking. However, Cronin declined a breathalyzer test at the time of his arrest.

Cronin's next court appearance is scheduled for June 5.
