La Gravinese Jewelers Offering Holiday Discount

PELHAM, N. Y. - Jewelry is one of the most popular holiday gifts as engagements occur and couples celebrate their anniversaries.

If you plan on buying your loved one jewelry this holiday season, La Gravinese Jewelers is offering a deal that might make it the perfect place to shop.

“The special we do is a ten dollar donation to Sound Shore Hospital,” said Jeanette La Gravinese, owner of La Gravinese Jewelers. “And with that ten dollar donation that we collect separately for Sound Shore Hospital, we give you fifty percent off any item in stock."

A ten dollar donation to Sound Shore Hospital is great, but it is further enhanced when looking at display cases filled with glistening earrings, shimmering diamonds rings, and sparkling necklaces, which would then be fifty percent off.

If that deal does not seem good enough, the customer is also entered into a raffle for a diamond necklace.

The family-owned and operated jewelry store, which has been around since 1964, has run this program with South Shore Hospital for the last three years. According to Jeanette La Gravinese, they expect to raise well over a thousand dollars through this special.

La Gravinese Jewelers also accepts your gold, which is a very profitable service for them at this time of year.

"Customers have been coming in looking to trade in their old jewelry for holiday money or they’ve been trading up for something new for the holiday using it towards a purchase," said La Gravinese. That has always been big and it continues to be big. But, during the holiday season, the crunch time comes.”

One of the best weeks for jewelry stores is the week leading up to Christmas because men are not known for buying jewelry that far in advance.

“The week before Christmas in the jewelry industry is a busy week," said La Gravinese. "Men are last-minute shoppers.

As a result of the last-minute shopping, La Gravinese Jewelers is extending the days that they are open.

“We’re open seven days a week the two weeks prior to Christmas.”

Their normal hours are 10 a.m. -6 p.m., but during those two weeks, they are open from 10 a.m. -7 p.m. and after 7 p.m. with appointment.
