Final Concrete Beams To Be Placed On Bronx River Parkway Bridge

SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- The last major concrete beams will be placed as part of the Crane Road Bridge replacement project on Friday between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. at the Crane Road Bridge construction site in Scarsdale at Exit 12 of the Bronx River Parkway, County Executive Rob Astorino announced.

Astorino will be on site to welcome the arrival of the last beams. Each of the seven beams is one hundred feet-long and weighs more than 100,000 lbs.  They are the last major component to be placed before the bridge is completed in August.

 The $55 million bridge replacement is the largest road and bridge project ever undertaken by the county, creating hundreds of construction jobs and improving the safety and vitality of area.
