PELHAM, N.Y. Pelham residents will soon have a means of transportation to the Empire City Casino at Yonkers Raceway. The casino will offer round trip bus service from Pelham Bay beginning Saturday.
The buses will run on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Those who wish to take advantage of the buses must pay $20 for a ticket. That fee includes the bus ride, $5 in free play at the casino's slot machines, and a $5 food voucher.
Buses will leave from two locations in Pelham Bay. A 10:45 a.m. bus will leave from Westchester Avenue and Crosby Avenue, in front of the Quality Café. A 10:50 a.m. bus will leave from the Pelham Bay Park subway station, which is also the Bronx 5 bus stop, in front of the Dunkin' Donuts on Westchester Avenue.
The return buses will leave Empire City Casino at 5:30 p.m.
Empire City Casino features 5,300 slot machines along with live and simulcast harness racing and several restaurants.
