PELHAM, N.Y. -- The case of the off-duty NYPD officer and Yonkers resident who allegedly shot into a stopped car , wounding a New Rochelle resident, was adjourned until July at an appearance on Thursday, June 5.

Brendan Cronin, 27, allegedly shot Joseph Felice, a New Rochelle resident on his way home with a friend, six times from his car on April 29, using his service weapon.

Cronin appeared before Town Justice John P. Gardner, who agreed to adjourn the case until July 10. He was accompanied by a small number of family members.

Cronin was charged with first-degree assault in Pelham Town Court on May 1 after being released on a $250,000 bond. According to court officials, he was also ordered to surrender his driver's license as condition of his bail.

According to multiple reports, New York City Police Commissioner William Bratton told reporters that the officer had been drinking. However, Cronin declined a breathalyzer test at the time of his arrest.
