PELHAM, N.Y. - Here are some of the stories that topped the news in Pelham this week:
- Luis Alomar, a fugitive suspected in a string of bank robberies along the Eastern Seaboard, including possibly in Westchester and Fairfield counties, was taken into custody at about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday in Medford, Long Island, N.Y., the FBI said.
- County Executive Rob Astorino is set to kick off the new year with a special open house reception on Jan. 1, and members of the public are invited.
- Gov. Andrew Cuomo is reminding Westchester County residents that state and local police will be enforcing distracted driving laws and utilizing sobriety checkpoints to deter drunk driving during the holiday season.
