Alligator Captured in Mount Vernon Tops Pelham News This Week

PELHAM, N.Y. -- Here's the top news from Pelham this week:

  • A two-foot alligator that that was captured in Wilson's Woods Park in Mount Vernon was shipped to a wildlife preserve in New England.
  • The New Castle Police Department called off the missing person alert Tuesday afternoon for a 59-year-old New Castle woman who was found dead in New York City. 
  • Edward J. Rayner, a Pelham resident and retired Con Edison employee, died Aug. 18. He was 68.
  • A 34-year-old Mount Vernon man fell to his death while painting at the Westchester Exceptional Children's School in North Salem.
