Officials confirmed that a pair of electrical feeder cable failed early on Wednesday, leaving nearly 1,000 Con Edison customers in Westchester - including the airport - without power. The airport was forced to run on a backup generator.

Repairs are currently in progress and power is expected to be completely restored no later than 12:30 p.m.

It was not immediately clear what caused the outage. Flights at the airport are taking off and landing without consequence. Keep following Daily Voice for updates as they become available.
