As part of his treatment, Solimine will be undergoing a bone marrow transplant. But a donor is needed. A bone marrow donor drive to help find a match for Solimine and others like him will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 13 at the Pelham Country Club, 940 Wynnewood Road, Pelham.

Solimine, affectionately called Snooks by his grandchildren, retired at the end of 2011 after 22 years of service to the community, including 12 years as town supervisor.

You can register to donate at the event. The requirements to be a bone marrow donor can be found at this website.

For more information on registering to be a donor, send an email to Jenn Solimine at jennsolimine@gmail.com or visit the Facebook page for Swab for Snooks - Bone Marrow Drive.
