Missy Palmisciano, Joe Ruggiero and Joe Solimine will be awarded the Person of the Year honor during the Pelham Civic Association’s annual Dinner Dance this fall. This marks the first time in the organization’s history that three people were chosen for the award.

“When our Civic's Dinner Dance Committee realized the enormous contributions that all three have made, not only to Pelham, but beyond, it was unquestionable that all three deserved this year’s award,” Pelham Civic member Joe Nunziata said.

Palmisciano is founder and president of County Harvest, which completes more than 60 food rescue runs each week and has collected more than 1 million pounds of food since its inception to feed the hungry.

Ruggerio is chief of the Pelham Manor Fire Department and a Pelham native. He is the creator of Learn to Play, a hockey clinic for children offered in Westchester, and volunteers as a coach in the Pelham Youth Hockey league.

Solimine, former supervisor of the Town of Pelham, has been a resident of Pelham for 41 years and is an avid volunteer for many groups in the area.

The Pelham Civic Association was founded in 1939.  This award-winning association is dedicated to assisting the youth, the elderly, the financially needy, and the mentally and physically challenged.
