Girl Scouts Visit Thomas Paine Fair In New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. --  Girl Scout Troop 1863 visited the Thomas Paine Cottage's Colonial Fair fundraiser on Saturday, April 11.

"The Thomas Paine Cottage will always hold a special place in our hearts as our girls bridged from Brownies to Juniors here on the beautiful grounds and now they are Cadettes,” said Helynn Boughner and Cristina Cerone, co-leaders of Girl Scout Troop 1863, who sponsored the spinning and weaving station.

The women spun wool and weaved a cloth as they explained their use of the “machinery,” colonial times technology, and how it is still in use today.
