PELHAM, N.Y. -- Spring is when thoughts turn to light, crisp wines. Andy Johnson, owner of Pelham's Blue Dog Wines & Spirits , likes pale salmon-hued dry rosés for the spring season.
Some of his favorites include:
- Domaine de Sulauze "Pomponette" from Provence
- Lafage Miraflors Rosé from Cotes du Rousillon
- Wolffer Estate Rosé from Sagaponack, Long Island
- La Spinetta's "il Rosé di Casanova" from Tuscany
Interested in a taste test? Blue Dog runs wine tastings from 5 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. most Fridays through the end of June. Normally, there are five wines to try before you buy, and often, a rosé is included in the group.
Wines are discounted during tasting hours. Blue Dog is located at 215 Wolfs Lane.
