Sekhri Joins Westchester Medical Center's Pain Management Team

VALHALLA, N.Y. - Dr. Nitin Sekhri has been named the new medical director of pain management for the Westchester Medical Center.

Sekhri was appointed to the medical staff of on Jan. 8. He earned his Chemical Engineering degree from Manhattan College before attending Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed his residency in Anesthesiology at Columbia University Medical Center, serving as Chief Resident in his final year. He went on to complete his Fellowship in Pain Medicine at Columbia and was recognized as a Virginia Apgar Research Scholar. After fellowship, Sekhri joined the Departments of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, where he specialized in both inpatient and outpatient pain management, with a focus on interventional procedures for cancer pain.

Sekhri joins Maureen Cooney, DNP, NP; the anchor of the Pain Management Program for the past 12 years, Drs. Reginald Rousseau and Raju Mantena, of North American Partners in Anesthesia, and Dr. Gary Tatz, a specialist in Pediatric Pain Management. Together, they will expand the scope of services and offer comprehensive, compassionate, multidisciplinary care for all patients in need, the medical center said in an announcement.

The team will be collaborating with colleagues in the Anesthesiology Department, for seamless post-operative pain management, and the Department of Radiology, to provide innovative pain management interventions such as kyphoplasty and neurolytic blocks.
