Bring a new, unwrapped toy and/or book to The Picture House Regional Film Center (TPH) anytime when the theater is open on Saturday, Dec. 3 and Sunday, Dec. 4 to benefit Family Services of Westchester’s Mount Vernon Youth programs. Everyone who donates to the Holiday Toy and Book drive will receive a small popcorn.

The TPH event is being organized by a group of third grade girls from Colonial Elementary School in Pelham. Lucy Cole, a student in Mrs. Lombardi’s class who is spearheading the drive said, “We know we’re really lucky to be able to go to a good school and have nice places to live.

"We wanted to do something nice for kids who live so close by and might not be as lucky.”

The other girls involved in organizing the charitable event include Alex Dolen, Bryn Felgner, Ava Floyd, Ava Karame, Arden Keough, Ella Klossner, Eloise McGibbon, Maggie Memoli, Heather Reische, and Anjali Shenkar.

On Saturday, Dec. 3 the students will also be hosting a bake sale to raise additional funds for the Mount Vernon Youth Programs. The bake sale will take place before the 1:30 p.m. Improv performance which features the work of middle and high school students who participate in The Picture House’s year-long Improv class. Tickets are $5 each and are available at the box office the day of the event.

The smash-hit "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" from the Harry Potter franchise will be playing on the main screen throughout the weekend. Tickets are available at the box office at 175 Wolfs Lane and online at www.thepicturehouse.org.
