A Different View Of The Holocaust Presented At Pelham Picture House

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Ron Stein, the founder of Four Of A Kind Productions (FOAK) is all about making thought-provoking, powerful films.

The New Rochelle film producer was behind  "The Kids Are Alright," starring Annette Bening and Julianne Moore and "The Romantics" with Katie Holmes and Anna Paquin, and is now promoting his newest project, "Anita B." about a Hungarian Jewish girl who survived Auschwitz, only to find she's not so wanted in the world of her one surviving relative.

"We've all heard the stories of the War," said Stein. "But many of us have not heard the 'after.' These folks were told to 'forget it,' to move on their lives, leave Auschwitz at the door ...  and it was not so easy."

The film, written and directed by Roberto Faenza, who did "Life is Beautiful" and loosely based on an autobiographic novel by Edith Bruck, is about a young woman who virtually had no childhood, trying to understand who she is.

Stein said this movie is important to see because "we have to have continue the remembrance of the Holocaust so things don't flair up and happen again."

He also stressed the importance of reaching --and appealing to -- younger audiences.

The movie is showing April 30 at The Pelham Picture House at 7:30 p.m. with a post film discussion with Producers Stein and Elda Ferri and Director Roberto Faenza.
