Utilize your crock pot. Lee loves making pulled pork in the crock pot and doing what she calls East meets West sliders. Her go-to recipe is HERE; just serve with a variety of side salads or spice up with different ingredients.

Other suggestions:

Asian Pulled Pork with Siricha

  • Steam Rice Buns instead of the standard western bun.
  • Add sirichi sauce for added kick and spice. You can also use Hoisin Sauce and other Asian favorites such as carrot ginger dressing or wasabi honey mustard.

All American Texas Slider with Brioche Bun

  • Brioche buns are perfect for this dish. They are soft and delicate and offer a richer taste.
  • Add your favorite bbq sauce to the slider. You can always place a few sauce options for your guests to choose with their bun.

An example of a salad she likes to offer with these dishes includes Asian Slaw, found HERE. Her tip for mixing it up: Add a teaspoon of sesame oil for a nutty and smoky flavor. In lieu of sugar, Lee uses agave nectar for a healthy sweet option to balance the flavors.

Go HERE for her "go to" Kale Apple Slaw with Chipotle Mustard. Mix the kale with organic baby spinach for added greens. Use chipotle mustard instead of dijon mustard for a flavorful kick. "It goes so well with the apples. A bit tangy, sweet, and offering you great texture," she said.

A little kick in time for kick-off!
