PELHAM, N.Y. -- A playwriting workshop, an African American art event, and a flea market are just a few of the things to do in and around Pelham this weekend.

From Page to Stage: 10 a.m to noon. This a free eight-week storytelling and playwriting program starting Friday. Teaching artist Frank Ingrasciotta is the 2012 United Solo Award winner for Best Comedic Actor and the Writer/Performer of the Critically Acclaimed One-Man Off-Broadway play "Blood Type: Ragu." He portrays more than 20 characters recounting his experiences growing up as a first-generation Italian-American. Frank has also written, directed and performed in many theater and TV productions. He teaches theater arts, creative writing and playwriting to students of all ages. Call the library at 738-1234 to register or for more information. "The Drum and Heart As One" at the Pelham Art Center: 1:30 to 3 p.m. ArtsWestchester Arts award winner Baba Abishai will lead an open circle and exercise of African and African-American drumming, dance and storytelling. It is free and open to everyone. Join us and watch his demonstration, participate in a hands-on activity, or listen to the folk stories. The Pelham Art Center is located at 155 Fifth Ave. in Pelham.
