PELHAM, N.Y. -- An art exhibit, an urban theater performance and the St. Patrick's Day Parade are just a few of the events this weekend in and around Pelham.
Friday, March 15
"Vital Signs" Exhibition: Noon to 5 p.m. The Pelham Art Center hosts an exhibition of photography, installation art and video questioning conventional notions of identity, beauty, gender and the body politic. Artists included are photographers Dean Dempsey and Susan Fenton, video artist Amy Jenkins, and installation artists Lorie Novak and Dread Scott. Free. The Pelham Art Center is located at 155 Fifth Ave. in Pelham.
Saturday, March 16
The 2nd Annual Urban Theater Festival: 3 and 7 p.m. The Bratcher Entertainment Group puts on "Secret Confessions," written and directed by Omar Moore. The festival continues through the two following Saturdays. Tickets are $20 in advance by calling 914-649-0555 or $25 at the door. Performances take place at the Macedonia Center at 103 W. 2nd St. in Mount Vernon.
Sunday, March 17
Sound Shore St. Patrick's Day Parade: 1:30 p.m. An exciting line-up from across the Sound Shore area will march in the second annual St. Patrick's Day Parare. Come watch the O’Rourke Academy of Irish Dance, the Iona Pipers, the Knights of Columbus, the NYPD Emerald Society Pipes and Drums, the Salesian High School Marching Band, Girl Scout Troops, and more go down Mamaroneck Avenue in Mamaroneck.
