Friday, Nov. 16

New Rochelle Farmers Market: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Purchase fresh produce and baked goods and see cooking demonstrations. New Rochelle Public Library green, One Library Plaza.

Iona Prep Annual President's Dinner: 6:30 p.m. Iona Preparatory School honors 1978 alum Frank Mara and his wife, Lynn. A cocktail hour, dinner and live/silent auctions will be held. Funds will go toward the renovation of the school’s athletic field and track. New York Giants radio announcer Bob Papa is the emcee and auctioneer. Children's operetta: 7 p.m. The New Rochelle Council on the Arts, Songcatchers and Tutti Bravi Productions present Washington Irving’s two-act children’s operetta “Rip Van Winkle." Pelham High School Play: 7:30 p.m. Sock n’ Buskin students present the George S. Delayed opening of “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum:” 8 p.m. The play opens after being postponed because of Hurricane Sandy. Pelham Women’s AA: 9 to 11 a.m. This Alcoholics Anonymous meeting takes place at Christ Church, 1415 Pelhamdale Ave., Pelham.

Thanksgiving Day Parade: 10 a.m. The New Rochelle Chamber of Commerce's annual parade begins at Eastchester Road and North Avenue then heads south on North Avenue to Main Street followed by a right onto Main Street to Maple Avenue. New Rochelle.

Friends of the New Rochelle Public Library Book Store: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Customers can find books and other items at bargain prices at this biweekly book sale. New Rochelle Public Library, One Library Plaza, New Rochelle.

Huguenot Children’s Library: Closed .

Pelham Farmers Market: 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Pelham Farmers Market offers produce, breads, pastry, wine and specialty products. Harmon Avenue off Fifth Avenue, Pelham.

Artist's Opening Reception: 3 to 7 p.m. New Rochelle artist, teacher and musician David Tobey holds an opening reception for his 30 painting exhibit titled “Imaginaries II.” He will also play violin pieces from his professional work with the Westchester Philharmonic and other musical groups. 52 Nob Court.
