The Picture House In Pelham Screens Holocaust Survivor Film 'Anita B.'

PELHAM, N.Y. — The Picture House will hold a special screening of “Anita B.” on Thursday, April 30, and producers Elda Ferri and Ron Stein and director Roberto Faenza will conduct a Q&A session with the audience.

“Anita B.” deals with a young woman who survives the Auschwitz concentration camp and tries to rebuild her life in Czechoslovakia after the war. While carrying on a love affair, she finds herself in a community in denial about the war's effects. 

The film is loosely based on Edith Bruck's biographical novel, "How Many Stars Twinkle in the Sky."

Ferri helped produce the Oscar-winning “Life Is Beautiful, and Faenza won a Donatello Award in Italy for his work on “Look To The Sky.” The film is based on Edith Bruck's true story and bestseller.

Eline Powell plays the title character, and the cast includes Robert Sheehan.

Tickets range in price from $6 to $12, and can be purchased online or at the Picture House box office, 175 Wolfs Lane in Pelham.
