This second event comes following the success of the sold-out 2013 event.
The Picture House will team up with Pelham-based band Mary and The Boys as well as other local musicians and singers to bring to life classic tunes such as "Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend," "Summertime" and "The Way We Were," as well as more recent songs such as "Jailhouse Rock" and "Footloose."
Each number in Songs that Made the Movies 2 will be introduced by a short audiovisual commentary that reveals fascinating details about the actors, singers, songwriters and producers who contributed to the films and soundtracks.
This unique movie-music experience provides audiences of all ages the opportunity to learn about, listen to, and enjoy some of the greatest songs from the silver screen.
“Songs that Made the Movies 2 is a perfect example of a shared community experience inspired by film – completely in line with the Picture House mission,” said Laura deBuys, president and executive director of The Picture House.
“We are so grateful to Mark Sidgwick for bringing back this fun, family-friendly event and to all of the musicians for donating their time and talents to support our historic theater.”
Tickets to Songs That Made the Movies 2 are $20 for general admission, $15 for members and $10 for students and seniors. Tickets are available at www.thepicturehouse.org or at the box office, 175 Wolfs Lane, Pelham, NY 10803.
