PELHAM, N.Y. -- Pelham students get a chance to focus on their families instead of school books Thursday night during "Family Time," a community-wide initiative that encourages families to eat regular meals together.

PACT was formed in 1997 and partners with the school district to designate nights that kindergarten through fifth-grade students can spend more time eating with their families instead of studying.

Family Time is designed to raise awareness about the importance of regular family meals and their role in preventing children from smoking, drinking or using drugs.
