There was no shortage of fun for families, as street vendors, craft tables, and local eats lined Fifth Avenue from Lincoln Avenue to First Street. There was free entertainment, a classic car show and even some of the area’s finest took to the mic to serenade a packed crowd with music from The Gazebo.
For the younger crowd, there was demonstrations, kiddy rides, face painting, a moon bounce, and even a Velcro Olympics-style competition on a crash course. For the adults, the Pelham Arts Center presented “Tango in the Courtyard,” Elvis impersonator Patric Perrone made an appearance and restaurants were serving beer on tap.
Local police had their own table to reach out to the community, and the Pelham Medical Group provided free sidewalk blood pressure and blood sugar screenings. Firefighters offered fire safety tips, and several village officials made appearances throughout the day.
Larchmont resident Bessie McMahon took her kids to the fair and said she was surprised by the sheer scope of the event.
“I thought we’d bring the kids for an hour and then go from there, but we’ll be here all day,” she said. “There really is something for everyone every step of the way.”
