PELHAM, N.Y. The Town of Pelham Public Library begins its Fall Authors Series Thursday with Barbara Boroson, the first of three authors of recently published non-fiction works.
Boroson, author of "Autism Spectrum Disorders in the Main Stream Classroom: How To Reach and Teach Students Students with ASDs (Scholastic Teaching Resources)" begins the series at 7:30 p.m., by presenting how families and teachers can collaborate to support autism students in regular classes.
Other participants as part of the series Reach, Teach, and Practice, theme include psychologist Lauren Carner, and publishing professional Angela Iadavaia-Cox, Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m., and William Broad, author of "The Science of Yoga: The Risks and the Rewards," Oct. 20 at 2 p.m.
Authors will discuss reaching and helping children with autism spectrum disorders to learn in a classroom environment, teaching children good habits of mind, and the risks and rewards of doing yoga.
