NYC Man Charged With Murder In Paterson Party Stabbing Death

PATERSON, N.J. -- Detectives arrested a Brooklyn man on murder charges shortly after police said he stabbed a Paterson man to death at a party, authorities said.

Alfred Edwards, 41, was rushed to St. Joseph's Medical Center, where he died a few hours after the 1:30 a.m. stabbing Saturday at 12th Avenue and Straight Street, Police Director Jerry Speziale said.

Detectives quickly zeroed in on Miguel Nesbeth, 31, who was arrested without incident near the 100 block of Rosa Parks Boulevard, Speziale said.

In addition to murder, Nesbeth is charged with two weapons possession counts, he said.
