The owner, Carolyn Caramanica, told reporters that her dog Joe-Joe was asleep by her side along with her other dog when her neighbor's pit bull, Frankie, charged into her yard and grabbed Joe-Joe by the neck, killing him, said News12.

Caramanica said Frankie's owners were out of time and a caretaker was watching the dog at the time of the attack, according to a Haverstraw police report.

She said Frankie held onto the Pomeranian for 10 minutes, despite attempts from the caretaker and Caramanica's family to intervene, said News12.

Frankie is now in quarantine at Hi Tor Animal Shelter in Pomona for 10 days.

Caramanica said as much as she loves dogs, she would like for Frankie to be put down to make sure he does not attack other dogs or humans, according to News12.
